Miguel Cotto

We constantly hear the other camp brag about how their Pacman has made history much more interesting for boxing. Apart from his high-speed left punches, Pacquiao has also been deemed the cashcow who made record pay-per-view revenues and global sponsorships. But before everyone starts to place their bets to the pound-for-pound’s bucket, it is still necessary to check out the competition.

Miguel CottoMiguel Angel Cotto won the WBO Welterweight World Champion title at the age of 28. The Puerto Rican boxer has made a name of his own through his powerful body shots and boxing skills. Cotto’s body punching has brought 34 out of his 35 opponents to defeat.

This time, as he faces Pacquiao, his biggest advantage perhaps is the fact that he is a legitimate welterweight in his prime. For one, he is not a blown up junior welterweight. He may even be the first counterpuncher Pacquiao has to face in a long time. The upcoming fight seems to be much more unpredictable this time.

While we all weigh the odds of Pacman’s speed and agility over Cotto’s strength and defense, let’s remember that this match has not been pre-written in history. It’s about time we let ourselves get anxious along with others as we watch the two meet in the ring during the Pacquiao vs Hatton live stream.
